PRELOADED wins BAFTA Children’s Award

A Brief History of Amazing Stunts by Astounding People, the groundbreaking augmented reality story created by PRELOADED and Within has won a BAFTA Children’s Award. 

The BAFTA Children’s Awards, which celebrate the very best in children’s media, awarded the prestigious prize to PRELOADED & Within, who edged out Google Arts, Nexus Studios, Aardman Animations and Mind Candy in the Digital Category.

Part of Within’s Wonderscope app, which utilises the latest technology in voice-driven AR to create a new type of experience, A Brief History of Amazing Stunts by Astounding People empowers children with a factual narrative that encourages movement, reading aloud and exploration like never before.

The story responds to a child’s movement and voice – including lines of dialogue that are highlighted as a child reads them aloud – showcasing the platform’s unique potential to elevate early childhood learning. 

A Brief History of Amazing Stunts by Astounding People joins last year’s winner in the Digital Category: CBeebies UK’s Hey Duggee, which also won awards for Pre-School Animation and Director categories.

Other notable winners this year were Sony’s Astro Bot Rescue Mission, made for Playstation VR, which won Best Game and Hilda, the series about a fearless young girl who finds friends, adventures and magical creatures when she journeys to the city, won in the Animation category. 

Wonderscope is built using Apple’s ARKit, and available on iOS devices now.
