Senior Producer
The senior producer is responsible for the delivery of projects and for day to day liaison with clients. As an externally focused member of the business the producer is required to establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with personnel at all levels within client organisations. From an internal perspective the producer role is tasked with specifying, documenting and managing the delivery of solutions working with the wider Preloaded team. The producer is expected to have a breadth of skills, enabling effective communication with designers, user experience architects and technologists.
Activities
- Project management, including project planning and estimation, change control, risk assessment and the creation of project documentation
- Resourcing, in particular being able to work flexibly with scarce resources and to manage freelancers when required
- Day to day management of designers, user experience architects, front end developers and backend developers, assigning tasks and managing team deliverables
- Managing communications with the internal team and the client, including leading weekly client status meetings and other meetings as required
- Participation in the pitch process, including creating documentation and project plans and communicating Preloaded’s approach and solution in pitch presentations
Responsibilities
- Project estimation and planning
- Delivering projects on time, to budget and to the required quality level, delivering profitable work
- Resource planning, identifying freelance requirements when needed
- Maintaining a strong, on-going relationship with clients in order to deliver repeat business
- Monthly revenue reporting, identifying and justifying write-off when required
- Monthly invoicing
Relationships
- Production team: resource planning, cover for holidays, knowledge sharing
- Operations Director: line management, resource arbitration, escalation when required
- Directors: client relationship management, account strategy and planning
- Studio: task planning and estimation, work delivery
- Clients: project communication, risk/change management
Qualifications and skills
- Educated to degree or equivalent with good levels of numeracy and literacy
- 3+ years’ experience producing interactive projects
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills, able to establish effective internal and client relationships quickly
- Familiarity with design and user experience, accessibility and user testing
- Familiarity with interactive technologies, e.g. Flash, XML, XHTML, CSS, server-side languages
- Familiar with project management methods, in particular ‘waterfall’ approaches such as PRINCE2 and ‘agile’ approaches such as Scrum, RAD or DSDM.
- Familiar with common project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project or Merlin), familiar with both PC and Mac environments
