Senior Developer
We are looking for a talented developer to join our Technical team, cutting code on anything from multiplayer games through to large-scale content-managed websites.
You should have great LAMP stack technical skills with deep experience (3+ years) in Python and Django. You’ll have a flair for working in a creative environment but will also be able to specify, estimate and deliver solutions to time and budget. The ability to work with other technologies would be an advantage and you’ll also need to be capable of server administration, adept at writing specifications and just as focused working on your own as in a team.
The senior developer is a key member of the technical team, working with the wider studio to deliver creative solutions. Preloaded’s work ranges from multiplayer Flash games to large scale, content managed websites and therefore the senior developer is required to be adept in a range of different technologies covering both front-end and back end technology.
Activities
- Contributing to the pitch/new-business process from a technical perspective
- Creating technical specifications and contributing to the project initiation process
- Design and implementation of technical solutions, primarily in a LAMP stack (OS X client) environment
- Administration of production servers
- Client meetings as required by projects
Responsibilities
- Acting as technical lead for specific projects: troubleshooting, directing freelancers and other team members, working with third parties and taking ownership of the technical elements of delivery
- Working with producers to estimate timescales for technical delivery
- Front-end and back end programming as dictated by project and scheduling needs
- R&D for specific technical platforms and opportunities

- Design team: defining solutions which can be properly implemented
Qualifications and skills
- 3+ years experience in delivering technical, web-oriented solutions using a mix of technologies
- Deep-level expertise in the LAMP stack, including Django/Python experience
- Excellent front end coding skills in HTML/CSS/Javascript
- Broad range of other technical skills (e.g. Objective-C, Unity/C# and similar platforms) an advantage
- UNIX system administration experience
- Ability to estimate, define and deliver high quality work on time and to budget
- Strong writing skills, able to create technical specifications and similar documentation
